House Fire in Mias Canyon North of Banning, Two Residents Displaced

A fire broke out Monday evening and damaged a home in Mias Canyon north of Banning, displacing two residents, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported at 7:25 p.m. Aug. 19 near the 10000 block of Mias Canyon and East Fork, north of the canyon turnoff at Bluff Street and east of Banning Bench, according to Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire Riverside County.


The first firefighters on scene found "a residential home well involved" and power lines down, Hagemann said. Seven engine companies responded and by 8:45 p.m. Hagemann reported American Red Cross reps were assisting two adults who were displaced.

No injuries were reported. Other agencies that responded included the Sheriff's Department and Southern California Edison.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
