200 Motorcyclists Attack Driver In RivCo: Report

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA -- A driver is recovering Monday after reportedly being attacked by a group of 200 motorcyclists in Riverside County. The incident was reported on Sunday on state route 91.

The Press Enterprise reported the motorcyclists followed the driver off the freeway and into downtown Riverside.

"The victim, who was not identified by name, was treated for injuries at the scene of the assault on Mission Inn Avenue, which was reported about 1 p.m.," the newspaper wrote. "It’s not clear what may have happened on the freeway prior to the assault."

Police told the newspaper the driver got out of his vehicle where he was then assaulted. Officers at the scene said the driver was "on the ground with his face bleeding."

The California Highway Patrol told the Press Enterprise that the number of motorcyclists stood at about 200, but witnesses on Facebook said the number was higher than that. One person estimated it was 400 motorcyclists.
