IE Man Shot To Death, Suspect At Large
The 42-year-old Adelanto man's death is being investigated by homicide detectives, authorities said.
ADELANTO, CA — A 42-year-old Inland Empire man died of severe gunshot wounds on Monday, but authorities say they have yet to arrest a suspect.
Maurice Davis of Adelanto was found just before 10 a.m. Monday suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds shortly before he was taken to a hospital. There, he was pronounced dead, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.
Deputies from the Victor Valley Station had responded to reports of shots fired on Monday at about 9:51 a.m. near the 11200 block of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto, where they found Davis, police said.

The sheriff's Homicide Detail, along with the Specialized Enforcement Division, took over the investigation, the department said.
An autopsy will be performed to determine a manner of cause and death.
