IE Stabbing Victim Runs For Help After Road Rage Incident; Suspect Arrested
Police said a man was stabbed after leaving a vehicle during an argument.
CRESTLINE, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Sunday evening after deputies said he attacked another man with a knife in Crestline following a dispute on the road.
Twin Peaks Station deputies responded around 5:39 p.m. on Sunday to the 23700 block of Lake Drive following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies learned the incident began when the suspect, later identified as Darrell Darling, apparently argued with a woman in the driver's seat while a man sat in the passenger seat of a vehicle. When the man got out and walked away, Darling allegedly followed in his truck, pulled alongside him, got out, and threatened to kill him.

Authorities said that's when Darling swung a knife at the man, striking him in the side. The victim, who was not named, ran to a nearby business for help, where fire personnel treated him before he was transported to a local hospital for further care.
Darling fled the scene in his vehicle, but a description of him and his truck was quickly broadcast. Cal Fire law enforcement officers later spotted him near Old Waterman Canyon. After a short vehicle pursuit, Darling was taken into custody without further incident, deputies said.
