Inland Empire Prosecutor Criticized For Michelle Obama Comments
Longtime deputy district attorney Michael Selyem was placed on leave after making offensive comments about the former first lady and others.

INLAND EMPIRE, CA -- An Inland Empire prosecutor is facing a wave of criticism after his comments about former first lady Michelle Obama and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) were revealed recently. The San Bernardino Sun reported Michael Selyem, a longtime deputy district attorney in San Bernardino County, was placed on administrative leave after it came to light that he posted a photo of Obama with the caption “Trump grabbed my penis.”
In speaking about the Los Angeles lawmaker, Selyem described Waters as a "loud-mouthed c#nt in the ghetto," according to the Sun.
Selyem also reportedly made offensive comments about immigrants from Mexico.

The news, which only came to light in recent days, sparked outrage among members of the public with many writing on social media that Selyem should resigned or be dismissed from the post he's held for 12 years.
However, the Sun reported Selyem has been under investigation since last month after another county employee filed a complaint.

"Since then, Selyem has been the subject of an internal investigation," the Sun reported. "Selyem hung up on a reporter when reached by phone. He did not return calls and emails seeking comment on the posts that appeared under his name. Both his Facebook and Instagram accounts have been deleted."
The Sun reported Mike Ramos, the district attorney for San Bernardino County, responded to the news, noting that "they do not represent the views" of his office.
