Jurupa Valley Woman Helped Hit-And-Run Driver: Cops
A 42-year-old woman posted bail after helping a suspected fatal hit and run driver, authorities say.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A woman suspected of aiding a hit-and-run motorist who struck and killed a 42-year-old Jurupa Valley woman was out of custody Monday after posting bail.
Erika Marlene Guevara, 26, of Jurupa Valley, was arrested Saturday with Jose Manuel Acosta Aguilar, 25, also of Jurupa Valley, in connection with the death of Jamie Pruitt.
Guevara was booked into the Robert Presley Jail on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact. She posted a $37,500 bond and was let out of the downtown Riverside detention center Sunday.

Aguilar is being held at the same facility in lieu of $500,000 bail. He was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run resulting in death and attempting to conceal evidence.
Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Rafael Lopez said the suspects surrendered to deputies following reports on the fatality.

Pruitt was fatally struck about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Mission Boulevard, near Crestmore Road.
Sgt. Ronald Smith said the victim was walking on Mission when a white 2012 Toyota Corolla plowed into her. It was unclear whether she was crossing the roadway or walking within one of the lanes at the time.
Aguilar allegedly fled after running over the woman.
County fire paramedics arrived within 10 minutes and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Smith said it was confirmed the Toyota "sustained significant damage to the front passenger side hood, fender and windshield."
"Deputies conducted an extensive search for the suspect and the vehicle, but could not locate it," the sergeant said.
It was unclear where Aguilar was headed at the time, or how fast he was allegedly traveling.
No background information was available on him or Guevara.
