Loaded Short-Barrel Shotgun, Revolver Found During Cabazon Stop

CABAZON, CA — A Cabazon man remained jailed Thursday following his arrest this week on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and weapons charges.
Robert Brian Ruehle, 59, was pulled over by sheriff's deputies at about 12:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 14800 block of Broadway Street in Cabazon.
According to the sheriff's department, he was seated behind the wheel of a stolen truck. A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded short-barrel shotgun and a loaded revolver for which Ruehle did not have a permit, the agency reported.

Following his arrest, Ruehle was sent to Banning's Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility where he remains held in lieu of $10,000 bail, jail records show.
He has no felony convictions in Riverside County, according to court records.
