Major Injuries Reported In I-10 Crash Near Whitewater

Preliminary reports indicated there was a head-on collision on the freeway.

WHITEWATER, CA — At least one person was hurt Tuesday morning in a head-on crash on Interstate 10 near the Whitewater area, the California Highway Patrol reports. The wreck was reported just before 7 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, near SR-62.

Preliminary CHP logs indicate a truck and a sedan crashed into each other, blocking multiple lanes of traffic. Lanes were temporarily closed as a result.

An ambulance was called to the scene shortly thereafter, and the CHP reported that someone suffered major injuries.

The roadway was partially closed until after 8 a.m.
