Major Injuries Reported As Vehicle Rolls Off I-10 In Banning

BANNING, CA — Two people were hospitalized, one of them with major injuries, following a vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 10 in Banning on Wednesday afternoon, officials report. The crash was reported around 1 p.m. along the eastbound side of the freeway, near the Sunset Avenue ramp.

According to preliminary CHP reports, the white sedan hit the center divider and slid across multiple lanes of traffic before eventually rolling off the edge of the roadway and down an embankment.

Fire officials say responding paramedics found two people at the scene; one with major injuries, the other with moderate injuries. One of the people had to be pulled free from the wreckage by emergency personnel.

Both victims were transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

The CHP is investigating the crash. No other injuries were reported.
