Man, 76, Accused In Beaumont Child Sex Assault Case
Beaumont police say the man, who now lives in Yucaipa, may have assaulted other children.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont police on Wednesday announced the recent arrest of a Yucaipa man who is accused of lewd acts with a minor and other disturbing charges. What's more, they say there may be more potential victims out there.
Rodney Eugene Adams, 76, was arrested on Aug. 7 on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years of age and , sexual penetration with foreign objects, jail booking records show. After posting $55,000 bail, he was released from custody the next day.
Beaumont police say their investigation of Adams began in July, after a woman contacted them saying they'd been victimized by the man from 1998 to 2002. She told police she was 8 years old when she was first molested by the man, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

"At the time Adams was a friend of the victim’s family and resided in the City of Beaumont," police said in a news release.
Police said that "[due] to the nature of these charges, there is a possibility there may be additional victims."

The man has lived in Banning, Beaumont and Yucaipa.
