A man was shot by park rangers at Lake Perris State Recreation Area on Saturday.
PERRIS, CA — A man armed with a gun was shot by park rangers at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area on Saturday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
California State Park rangers assigned to the reserve responded to a parking lot near the lake after hearing gunshots just before 7 p.m. Saturday. There, they found a man who rangers say was attempting to pull out a concealed gun, deputies said.
That prompted the rangers to shoot, striking the man. The man was detained and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
