Military Aircraft Crashes Outside Of Small IE Airport
The pilot ejected before the aircraft went down mid-morning in a remote desert area.
TRONA, CA — A military aircraft crashed Tuesday morning just outside the Trona town limits in a remote stretch of desert, according to the Trona Airport manager.
No injuries were reported.
The crash occurred between 10 and 10:15 a.m., roughly two miles south of Trona Airport, Airport Manager George Bass told Patch.

The pilot survived and was able to parachute out before the aircraft went down, he said.
“No one was injured, to the best of my knowledge,” Bass said, adding that there had been no local reports or emergency alerts issued in connection with the incident as of Tuesday afternoon.

It was not immediately clear what branch of the military the aircraft belonged to or what caused it to go down.
