Mom Owns Massive Weed 'Fortress' In Inland Empire: Police

The woman who owns a massive marijuana farm where 35,000 plants were seized last week said her business is legal.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA -- A California mom who owns a massive marijuana farm where 35,000 plants were seized last week said her business is legal and that there was a "paperwork mistake." Stephanie Smith, 43, of Pacific Palisades was tracked down by DailyMail who asked her about the raid.

Eight people were detained during the raid at the four-story warehouse that police said was complete with "fortified doors" and surveillance cameras. Police said the electric bill topped $67,000.

In speaking to the DailyMail, Smith said she will get a license for her business and that the predicament will change come Jan. 1 when recreational marijuana becomes legal.

"I already do it as a proper business," Smith, who allegedly made millions from the farm, told the news site. "I already have a lot of other licenses in other jurisdictions."

San Bernardino police released Smith's photo but said she has not been arrested or charged. Police said the farm is being investigated.
