Monday Essentials for Banning, Beaumont and the Pass

Here are several things to know about what's going on this week in Banning, Beaumont and the Pass area, and elsewhere in Riverside County.

1. The Veterans Day holiday is Monday. Most government offices will be closed, along with many colleges and some businesses. Check before you head out.

2. In the Pass, Banning City Hall, Beaumont Civic Center and Beaumont Transit will be closed Monday Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.

3. There's a Veterans Benefits Presentation planned 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 12 at Beaumont Civic Center - Room 2.

4. There's a Banning City Council meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 12 at Banning City Hall.

5. There's also a Planning Commission Meeting scheduled at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at Beaumont Civic Center.

6. At 6 p.m. Thursday Nov.  14, there's a Banning School Board Meeting scheduled in council chambers at City Hall.

7. Friday is America Recycles Day. Follow the link for info on safely recycling old electronic devices.

And finally, Saturday is homecoming and parents' day at UC Riverside. There is a complete schedule online. At 4 p.m. the Highlanders take on the Montana State Bobcats in basketball.
