Morongo Valley Man Dies After Joshua Tree Shooting, Suspect Sought

JOSHUA TREE, CA — A 52-year-old Morongo Valley man who was shot last week in Joshua Tree died from his injuries, and the suspect remains loose, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported.

Richard Andrade was found with a gunshot wound at approximately 11:34 p.m. Feb. 15 at a residence in the 4700 block of Avenue La Manana in Joshua Tree. He was sent to a local hospital where he later died, according to the sheriff's department.

"Through investigation, detectives learned Andrade sustained a gunshot wound while outside the residence," the department reported. "The suspect is unknown and remains at large."

A possible motive for the shooting was not released.
