Mountain Resort Death: Big Bear Investigators Suspect Homicide

The discovery was made over the weekend at Bear Creek Resort at Big Bear Lake.

BIG BEAR LAKE, CA — A man found dead over the weekend at a resort at Big Bear Lake is being investigated as a homicide, but no arrests were made as of early Monday afternoon.

At approximately 7:24 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, deputies with the Big Bear Sheriff's Station were called to Bear Creek Resort at 40210 Big Bear Boulevard regarding the discovery.

The victim, described as a Hispanic man, was pronounced dead at the scene and had "injuries consistent with a homicide," according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

No other identifying information about the victim was released.

No arrest has been made in the case and the investigation is ongoing, the sheriff's department said.
