Non-Injury Shooting Near DHS High School Under Investigation
At the time of Friday's shooting, students were leaving the high school, according to Desert Hot Springs Deputy Police Chief Steven Shaw.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — Police Friday were investigating a shooting that occurred by Desert Hot Springs High School as students were going home.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, a shooting occurred on the intersection of Cholla Drive and Fourth Street, according to Desert Hot Springs Deputy Police Chief Steven Shaw.
At the time of the shooting, students were leaving the high school, Shaw said. The school and a recreation center were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

"There were no injuries as a result of the shooting, and the lockdown was lifted approximately 30 minutes later," Shaw said.
