One Hospitalized in Big Rig Crash on I-10

The crash on the westbound side of the interstate east of the Highland Springs Avenue off-ramp was reported at 2:10 a.m.

One person suffered major injuries Saturday morning in a crash involving a big rig and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 10 in Banning, authorities said.

One person in the passenger vehicle was extricated from the wreckage and taken to a hospital with major injuries, he said.

The big rig apparently left the scene of the crash, according to a notation on the California Highway Patrol's online Traffic Incident Information Page.

The wreck closed two westbound lanes of Interstate 10, according to the CHP.
