Pair To Stand Trial For Alleged Attack In Downtown Riverside
A man is accused of taking part in a road rage incident that resulted in shots fired in downtown Riverside.
RIVERSIDE, CA — A convicted felon accused in a road rage confrontation in downtown Riverside during which shots were fired must stand trial on multiple felony charges, a judge ruled Friday, while most of the charges against his girlfriend were dismissed.
Jahiden Nissi Person and Samiyah Milan Moore, both 22 and of Riverside, were arrested last year following a Riverside Police Department investigation.
At the end of a preliminary hearing Friday, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Jerry Yang found there was sufficient evidence to bound Person over for trial on charges of attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a loaded weapon, robbery and a sentence- enhancing gun-use allegation.

After the presentation of evidence, prosecutors decided to drop a gun assault charge and related sentence enhancements against Moore, leaving only a misdemeanor charge of brandishing a firearm. She was immediately released on her own recognizance.
The judge scheduled a post-preliminary hearing arraignment for the pair on Oct. 18 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

Person is being held on $2 million bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
According to Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback, at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2023, the defendants were involved in a traffic conflict in the 3400 block of Sixth Street that led to an altercation.
During the road rage encounter, Person opened fire on Jeffrey Allen Robinson of Riverside, who was also armed and returned fire, Railsback alleged.
"No one (was) struck," he said, adding that all of the parties fled.
Railsback said patrol officers found evidence that gunfire had been exchanged and turned the matter over to detectives, who soon identified the alleged belligerents, resulting in search warrants being obtained and served at properties on Magnolia Avenue and Felspar Street.
The defendants were taken into custody without incident. Robinson immediately posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail.
He's charged separately with two counts each of carrying a loaded firearm without a permit and possession of an undetectable firearm, or "ghost gun."
His case is slated for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 17.
Railsback alleged that during the investigation, detectives turned up evidence linking Person to an armed robbery at an AutoZone in the 1900 block of University Avenue last Nov. 7.
The defendant has a prior felony conviction in another jurisdiction that wasn't listed in court papers.
Neither Moore or Robinson has priors.
