Passenger Dies In Motorcycle Crash On Limonite

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A motorcycle passenger was killed and the driver injured in a collision with a car on the east end of Jurupa Valley, authorities said Monday.

The deadly crash happened about 9:15 p.m. Sunday in the 5900 block of Limonite Avenue, near Riverview Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Javier Morando said the circumstances behind the collision were under investigation, and few details were available.

He said that patrol deputies reached the location within a few minutes and found the motorcyclist with moderate injuries and his passenger with life-threatening injuries.

Both victims were taken to a Riverside hospital, where the passenger was pronounced dead on arrival. The motorcyclist was in stable condition Monday.

Neither victim was identified.

None of the car occupants required medical attention.

Morando said that it's too early to know whether drugs or alcohol might have been factors in the crash.

No one has been arrested.

Limonite was shut down between Pacific Avenue and Riverview Drive for several hours following the wreck.
