Pedestrian Hit By Train Near Downtown Riverside

RIVERSIDE, CA — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a train Tuesday while walking or crossing tracks just east of downtown Riverside.

The man, whose identity was not disclosed, was hit just before 1 p.m. Tuesday along the Union Pacific Railroad line in the area of Vine and Third streets, according to the Riverside Fire Department.

The agency said an eastbound train hit the pedestrian and immediately stopped.
