Pedestrian Who Was Killed By Speeding SUV In Beaumont ID'd
A pedestrian who was struck and killed in Beaumont Friday when an SUV careened through a parking lot has been identified by authorities.

BEAUMONT, CA -- A pedestrian who was struck and killed in Beaumont Friday morning when an SUV exited Interstate 10 and careened through a parking lot has been identified by authorities.
Darren Kritzberger, 50, of Beaumont was hit about 10:25 a.m. in the area of Beaumont Avenue and Fifth Street, the Beaumont Police Department confirmed Saturday, July 20.
Police said the driver of the Subaru careened off the westbound I-10 at the Beaumont Avenue off-ramp before striking Kritzberger, who was in the yard at Stallion Auto Repair, where he worked.

"The driver went through the parking lot of a business and struck an employee," according to a police statement.
Kritzberger was pronounced dead at the scene by Riverside County Fire Department paramedics.

A motor home and pickup truck also were damaged in the crash.
The Subaru driver, who has not been publicly identified by police, was treated San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
