Veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War were among those who attended a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday Nov. 11 in Civic Center Park, Palm Desert.
Korean War and Marine Corps veteran Quintin L. Villanueva, a retired Los Angeles Police Department captain and member of the Desert Cities Chapter, 1st Marine Division Association, was keynote speaker.
The Heatwave Jazz & Show Band of the Coachella Valley Boys & Girls Clubs performed before and after Villanueva's remarks.
