REDLANDS, CA — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon near the Redlands Community Center, and the public is asked to avoid the area.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the Redlands Police Department said on social media that it was investigating the incident near the community center located at 111 W. Lugonia Ave.

There was no word on possible injuries.

"Please stay out of the area," the police department shared on social media. "Further details will be provided as they are available."

The community center is located across the street from the Redlands Unified School District headquarters.
