Public's Help Sought After 2 Men Found Shot At Banning City Park

The victims told police an unknown Hispanic man in his 30s shot them during an attempted robbery.

BANNING, CA — Banning police are asking for the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect who allegedly shot two men found wounded at the city's Repplier Park.

The police investigation began after a 911 call was received shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The caller hung up but the call was traced to the area near Repplier Park at 201 West George Street, according to Banning PD.

Officers searched the park and found two men, each with gunshot wounds.

The victims told officers an unknown Hispanic man shot them during an attempted robbery. The suspect is described as being in his 30s with a thin build. He was last seen fleeing the area southwest through the park toward West George Street, according to Banning police.

Both victims were sent to an area hospital for medical treatment. An update on their condition was not available.
