Real Fire Chars 7 Acres, Evacuation Orders Lifted
Crews worked overnight to hold the fire line and protect nearby homes.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — Firefighters in Jurupa Valley worked through Thursday night into Friday, battling a brush fire that initially threatened homes and spurred evacuations during the hottest day of this week’s heat wave.
By midnight, all evacuation orders and warnings had been lifted as crews held containment lines in the area along the Pomona Freeway, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The Real fire, which ignited around 5 p.m. on Thursday,has burned 7.4 acres and was 60 percent contained as of Friday, fire officials said.

On Thursday, at 6:15 p.m. fire officials initially issued an evacuation order for the area north of Granite Hill Drive, east of Edgewood Point, west of Boulder Drive and south of the water towers, along with an evacuation warning for the area north of Granite Hill Drive, east of Boulder Drive, west of Soto Drive, and south of the water towers.
By 9:15 p.m., the evacuation order had been downgraded to a warning, and by midnight, all warnings were lifted.

Although those warnings were lifted overnight, residents are urged to use caution in the area.
"Crews will be committed for the day monitoring hot spots and performing mop-up. Please use caution when in/around the area as heavy equipment and personnel will be working," Cal Fire said.
Some 130 crew members fought the fire, along with 23 engines, three helicopters, two helicopters, two hand crews and a water tender, according to Cal Fire.
No injuries have been reported, and no structures were being threatened as of 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
