Redlands East Valley High Student Arrested After Gun Report: Cops
The incident occurred Tuesday on the campus located at 31000 E. Colton Avenue.
REDLANDS, CA — A student at Redlands East Valley High School was arrested Tuesday after he was spotted allegedly brandishing a handgun on campus.
Christopher Oberhelman, 18, of San Bernardino was taken into custody after the incident that was reported at 7:15 a.m.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Oberhelman brandished the weapon in the school's parking lot. The gun was described as a silver and black revolver.

A tipster contacted law enforcement about the alleged incident, which led to a school resource officer contacting Oberhelman on campus. Authorities searched the student's vehicle, which turned up a replica silver and black .357 revolver, a replica tan and black 1911 Sig Sauer handgun, and an Elk Ridge knife that was approximately 10 inches long, the sheriff's department said.
Both firearms were determined to be air guns; the knife was real.

Oberhelman was arrested and booked on suspicion of possessing a weapon on school grounds.
