RivCo To Join 3,000 Counties In Lighting Admin Building Green For Vets
As a tribute to those who have served in the armed forces, the building will be lit green from Nov. 5 through Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

RIVERSIDE, CA — To honor those who have served in the armed forces in Riverside County, the region will join thousands of other counties in lighting the County Administration Building green from Nov. 5 through Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 in front of the County Administration Center Building at 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside. Veterans, community members, media and local dignitaries are welcome to attend the ceremony, where they will hear about the importance of the lighting's impact.
The county is participating in Operation Green for a third consecutive year as an initiative led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.

“This green light is a small but meaningful way of showing our veterans that they are valued and remembered,” Second District Supervisor Karen Spiegel said. “By lighting up our building, we’re reminding our community of the sacrifices veterans have made and affirming our commitment to support them long after their service.”
The lighting is meant to draw attention to veterans' service and the resources available to them in Riverside County.

"As a veteran, this cause is deeply personal to me. The green light symbolizes our enduring respect and gratitude for those who served," said Third District Supervisor Chuck Washington. "This is a gesture that reminds us of the sacrifices made by veterans and our ongoing commitment to honoring their legacy."
