RivCo Man Arrested In Connection With Shooting In Cabazon

A victim was hospitalized in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

CABAZON, CA — A man was arrested in Cabazon on Wednesday on suspicion of shooting a victim multiple times, sending him to the hospital, authorities said.

Anthony Edward Cuenca, 43, of Chino Hills, was taken into custody after the incident was reported, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

At 2:11 p.m., deputies from the Cabazon station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon report near the 49000 block of Seminole Drive, the department said.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived. He was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition, deputies said Thursday.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Cuenca, whose vehicle was later found in the area of Seminole Drive and Malki Road. There, he was arrested.
