RivCo Man Shot To Death On Thanksgiving Day; Suspect At Large

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A search was underway Friday for whoever fatally shot a 57-year-old man in Moreno Valley on Thanksgiving Day, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the 13000 block of Heacock Street about 9:37 p.m. Thursday for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. They arrived to find the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and investigators are working to identify the suspect or suspects, the department said. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
