RivCo Restaurant Closures: Health Issues Spotted At Pizza Shops, Jack In The Box, Bars
About 20 restaurants in Riverside County were temporarily downgraded to "B" or "C" ratings, or closed altogether to halt unsafe conditions.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County's Health Department cited 20 restaurants across the county, temporarily closing them due to immediate health concerns.
Between Sept. 25 and Oct. 20, health inspectors across the county identified “health hazards” for restaurant patrons during routine and surprise inspections. This time, health issues that caused immediate concern included ceiling leaks, failed hot water tanks, improper refrigeration temperatures, rodent and fruit fly infestations.

In Riverside County this month, the below restaurants received immediate downgrades, or the permission for restaurant owners to attempt — when possible — to repair the issues before inspectors leave the premises. Owners can close their restaurants for a few hours or a day or two to address flagged problems before the next inspection. Otherwise, they must place a sub-par grade on their windows. Still, some issues take longer to resolve, leading to a restaurant's “B” or “C” downgrade or a lengthy closure.
