RivCo Sheriff To Ramp Up DUI Patrols During The Holiday
Deputies will be on the lookout countywide for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs next week.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The Riverside Sheriff's Department is urging the public not to imbibe and drive while celebrating Cinco de Mayo next week.
Residents may see more patrol cars and deputies on the lookout for drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs on Monday, May 5.
The department did not disclose where deputies would likely be conducting extra patrols.

“Don’t put yourself and others on the road at risk by driving impaired,” Deputy Ott said. “If you’re planning to celebrate with a drink or two, leave your keys at home and designate a sober driver.”
Police warn that it isn't just alcohol that can impair driving. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. And while recreational marijuana is legal, driving under the influence of it is not.
