RivCo Woman Fatally Struck By Train On Union Pacific Tracks
On Wednesday, investigators worked to discover why the 22-year-old wandered onto tracks where she was struck and killed in Jurupa Valley.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A 22-year-old woman was struck and killed by a train Sunday on Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Investigators are still researching what led to her death.
At 7:45 p.m., Maraya Espinoza of Jurupa Valley was fatally injured on the tracks paralleling Van Buren Boulevard, just north of Bellegrave Avenue, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.
Railroad officials believe Espinoza was "standing or walking along the tracks when a southbound train hit her."

The freighter immediately stopped.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics answered calls to the scene, arriving about 10 minutes later. Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Train traffic was held up for over an hour while coroner's officials examined the location, along with UP Police agents.
