RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A month after the election, the results are finally in for Riverside County as officials certified the results on Tuesday.

The certification of results in both Riverside and San Bernardino counties marked several victories for red candidates in the Inland Empire, including President-elect Donald Trump, who captured the majority of the vote in both counties, but ultimately lost California.

Trump is the first GOP member in two decades to technically win the Inland Empire, though county voters were almost evenly split. Trump led in Riverside County with 49.30% against Vice President Kamala Harris' 48.04%, according to the county. Nonetheless, the last GOP presidential candidate to win both counties is former U.S. President George W. Bush.

In one of the more competitive Inland races, Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Corona) clawed to reelection, beating out hopes from Democrats to flip his long-held post blue with challenger Will Rollins. Calvert will serve a 17th term, making him the longest-serving Republican in the California congressional delegation.

And while county voters chose a Republican over a Democrat in four of the U.S. House contests, in the two state Senate races, it was a different story as voters chose Democrats.

In Riverside County's six state Assembly races, voters chose a Republican in four of the contests. Republican Leticia Castillo was one of them, beating out Democrat Clarissa Cervantes in an upset race for the 58th Assembly District, which represents parts of Riverside, Eastvalle, Jurupa Valley and Corona.

Although Democrat Adam Schiff beat out his Republican challenger Steve Garvey, in Riverside County, Garvey, a former All-Star, pulled ahead with 51% of the vote.

A total of 959,098 ballots were processed and counted with 69.89% of eligible Riverside County voters turning out, according to the county.

The 2024 results must still be officially certified by the County Board of Supervisors and the California Secretary of State. Recount requests can still be made through 5 p.m. Dec. 8.
