RivCo's Wild Donkeys Are Being Shot With Arrows; Suspects Sought

MORENO VALLEY, CA — At least two incidents of wild donkeys being injured with arrows have been reported in Riverside County this week, authorities said Tuesday evening.

Deputies are seeking the public's help to find the suspect or suspects responsible for shooting the animals with arrows, the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station said.

Police, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Riverside County Department of Animal Services are actively working to round up the injured donkeys to "ensure they receive prompt veterinary care."

"We remind the public that harming a donkey — or any animal — is a criminal offense," the sheriff's department said. "The safety and welfare of animals in our community is a priority, and we are committed to holding those responsible accountable."
