San Jacinto Woman Killed In Hemet Crash

The fatality occurred Monday morning in the 28000 block of Warren Road.

HEMET, CA — A woman killed Monday morning in a Hemet traffic collision has been identified as a San Jacinto resident.

Esther Elizalde, 54, died in the crash that was reported just after 6 a.m. in the 28000 block of Warren Road.

Hemet police determined three vehicles were involved in the morning wreck near Poplar Street, and one of the drivers — later identified as Elizalde — was unresponsive when officers got to her. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the other drivers was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center for what Hemet police said "appeared to be minimal to moderate injuries."

The third driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, Hemet police said.

No arrests were announced.

During the crash investigation, police asked motorists to avoid the area. Hard barricades were requested, and roads were closed. All were reopened at 10:50 a.m.

The Hemet Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash cause.
