Season's 1st Mountain Snow Forecast As Cold Snap Bears Down In RivCo
Snow levels will fluctuate between 5,500 and 6,500 feet with an inch of snowfall possible above 7,500 feet in local mountains.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A trough of low pressure moving across California will bring cool temperatures, gusty mountain and desert winds, and chance for showers Wednesday night through Friday in Riverside County.
The season's first snowfall is also on tap at the highest mountain elevations.
"Snow levels will fluctuate between 5,500 and 6,500 feet with an inch of snowfall possible above 7,500 feet in the San Jacinto and San Bernardino Mountains," according to the National Weather Service.

Light rain was falling Wednesday afternoon in parts of Riverside County, but the low-pressure system is not expected to bring significant precipitation.
The chance of rain is highest in San Diego County, according to the NWS.

"In fact, some sections of inland Orange County and the Inland Empire may not see any rain at all through Friday, and any rain that does fall will be light," the NWS reported. "The best chances for showers in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will be on the west facing mountains slopes and foothills where 0.05"-0.20" is forecast."
Cool temperatures are expected through Saturday, followed by slow and steady warming Sunday through Wednesday with sunny, warm days and clear cool nights, the NWS reported.
