Sex Crimes Against Pennsylvania Child Linked To IE Teacher: SBCSD

Investigators believe there could be more victims.

INLAND EMPIRE, CA — A six-month, cross-country investigation into an Inland Empire teacher led to his arrest this week on suspicion of child sexual abuse crimes, and detectives believe there may be more victims.

On July 24, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania issued an arrest warrant for Jack Daymond Allen, 62, of Lake Arrowhead on suspicion of multiple child sexual abuse crimes. Allen was taken into custody locally at about 10 p.m. July 31 by San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies.

Allen is a teacher at Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School in Lake Arrowhead and is being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga without bail. He is expected to be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges.

At the time of his arrest, Allen was in possession of child sexual abuse material and will also later be booked on possession of child pornography, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The investigation into Allen was opened on Jan. 22 by Pennsylvania's Peters Township Police Department and the Homeland Security Investigations-Child Exploitation Investigations Group. Investigators allege Allen was using an online chat platform to communicate with a minor who was a Pennsylvania resident. The context of the messaging was not disclosed.

Detectives believe Allen may have committed sex crimes against additional victims.
