Sex Registrant, Probationer, Parolee Check-Ins Net 9 Arrests: RSO

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A one-day law enforcement operation was conducted this week to check on whether sex registrants, probationers and parolees in and around Moreno Valley were complying with court orders attached to their cases. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the checks-in netted nine arrests, and four sex registrants were out of compliance.
The sweep was conducted Wednesday, Aug. 21, by the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of Riverside County Probation and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Division, the sheriff's department said.
During the operation, 117 registrants and 65 locations were checked for compliance, the department reported.

The nine arrests stemmed from violation of probation or parole terms, as well as various felonies, including narcotics-related charges and unlawful possession of ammunition, the agency said.
Investigations are continuing into the four sex registrants found to be out of compliance, according to the sheriff's department.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station patrols the city of Moreno Valley as well as nearby unincorporated areas, including Arnold Heights, Box Springs, March Air Reserve Base, Reche Canyon and University City.
