SigAlert On 60 Freeway After Big Rig Overturns

RIVERSIDE, CA — A SigAlert was issued Tuesday afternoon after a big rig overturned on westbound state Route 60 in Riverside, forcing multiple lane closures.

The incident was reported at 1:23 p.m., east of Pedley Road.

The SigAlert was issued at 1:40 p.m. as responders work to get the rig uprighted. Only the HOV lane is open, and traffic remains very slow through the area, with backup reported past state Route 91.

An update on any possible injuries was not available.

It's unclear whether Tuesday's strong Santa Ana winds played a factor in the crash. During critical wind conditions, officials advise extreme caution for drivers of high-profile vehicles.
