SigAlert Issued After Big Rig Crashes On 60 Freeway In Moreno Valley

Eyewitnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the tractor-trailer went off the freeway, into a ravine and smashed against a wall.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A big rig that slid off westbound state Route 60 Friday morning prompted a SigAlert that is expected to remain in place until about 8 a.m.

The solo-vehicle crash was reported just before 3 a.m. east of Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley.

Eyewitnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the tractor-trailer went off the freeway, into a ravine and smashed against a brick wall.

The rig reportedly caught fire and the driver was trapped. There were no immediate updates on the trucker's condition.

The freeway's number 3 lane remained closed as of 7 a.m. and traffic was slow in the area.
