Stalled Train Delays Pass Area Traffic

BEAUMONT, CA—Traffic delays Thursday at several Beaumont intersections were again due to a stalled train.
The train was blocking crossings At Pennsylvania, California and Veile avenues, Beaumont police said.
As of 3:23 p.m., a Union Pacific team was at the scene making repairs to the train after it suffered a mechanical emergency.

"Please avoid the area," police said. "There is currently no ETA on when the crossings will reopen."
According to a 5:09 p.m. police update, the train was cleared from the crossings.

Union Pacific did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
