Student Brings Loaded Gun To Banning High School: Police
The incident occurred Friday morning at the campus located at 100 W. Westward Avenue, according to the Banning Police Department.

BANNING, CA — A student who brought a loaded handgun to Banning High School Friday morning was quickly arrested and there were no injuries at the campus, according to the Banning Police Department.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. at the school located at 100 W. Westward Avenue. It began after a school resource officer received information about an armed student, though it's not clear how the tip came about.
The SRO and school campus security questioned and searched the student, which turned up the loaded firearm, according to Banning police.

The student was taken into custody and booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of bringing a firearm to a school campus, being a minor in possession of a handgun, carrying an illegally possessed loaded firearm, and illegally possessing an assault weapon — all felonies.

The student's home was searched and no additional weapons or contraband were found, police said.
