Suspect Arrested in Palm Springs, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen Boy, Man in Los Angeles

A man who was arrested last week in Palm Springs has been accused of two sexual assaults in Los Angeles and police in L.A. said Monday they were looking for more possible victims.

John Everett Perry, 34, was wanted on a warrant alleging oral copulation on person under 16 years of age, Palm Springs police Sgt. Harvey Reed said in a statement.

Perry, a resident of Palm Springs,  was arrested the afternoon of Sept. 25 in Palm Springs at his home, and he was booked early Sept. 26 in Los Angeles, according to inmate records.

Perry identified himself as a photographer to two alleged victims in the Los Feliz and Atwater Village neighborhoods on Sept. 24, LAPD Detective Michelle Gomez told reporters Monday Sept. 30.

In the first alleged incident, Perry approached a 15-year-old boy in the Los Feliz area 7:30 a.m. Sept. 24 and asked him if he was interested in modeling, Capt. Jeff Bert of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The teenager expressed interest and Perry allegedly lured him to his vehicle, where he sexually assaulted him, Bert said.

About 45 minutes later, Perry was seen inside an Atwater Village Starbucks in the 2900 block of Los Feliz Boulevard, where police said he approached a 25-year-old man.

Perry allegedly told the man he was a photographer, got him to go into a bathroom and sexually assaulted him, police said.

Perry has been charged in L.A. with four felonies, including lewd acts with a child under 16. He was booked in Los Angeles and released Sept. 26 on $75,000 bail, according to inmate records. He has a court date Oct. 21.

Anyone with more info was urged call LAPD detectives at (323) 344-5742 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
