Teen Accused Of Shooting Family Member In Banning

An 18-year-old was accused of shooting a 54-year-old family member. He remained in custody on Saturday.

BANNING, CA — An 18-year-old man accused of shooting a family member during a domestic disturbance in Banning remained jailed Saturday in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Alex Signavong was arrested after officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at about 11:10 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Almond Way, according to the Banning Police Department.

When officers arrived at the residence, they found a 54-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities said they located the gun used in the shooting, along with parts to convert the weapon into a fully automatic firearm.

Signavong was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, probation violation and a number of gun crimes.
