Threat At Beaumont School Under Investigation
Beaumont police say they conducted the standard 'STAR' protocol following the report.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont police and school officials are investigating Tuesday "potential threats" that were made towards a local campus. Police say they do "not have reason to believe that the student had the means to carry out these threats."
It all started during the school day on Tuesday, when authorities were called to Mountain View Middle School "to evaluate a student who was reportedly going to harm herself" after another student had told school staff about the individual.
"It was during this evaluation that the School Resource Officer (SRO) learned of potential threats to the school," police said in a news release Tuesday night. "As a result, the SRO conducted the Student Threat Assessment and Response (STAR) protocol at the student’s home."

Following their search at the unidentified student's home, police said they don't believe the threat to be credible; however, they praised the student who reported what they'd learned about the incident to staff.
What's more, police said they'll be increasing their presence near Beaumont middle schools in the coming days "to reassure parents of our commitment to student safety."
