COLTON, CA — Motorists were advised Friday morning that a major freeway connector in the Inland Empire was closed due to a multi-vehicle crash. All lanes were blocked from the westbound I-10 to the northbound I-215, according to the CHP and Caltrans.

At about 10:20 a.m. several cars collided, leaving wreckage scattered across the lanes where the two highways meet, Caltrans reported.

Preliminary California Highway Patrol reports indicate a BMW driver had stopped in the center divider after the vehicle overheated, and then a semi truck hit the sedan. As of 10:54 p.m., CHP reports indicated the closure was still in effect.
