Valley Fire: San Bernardino Blaze Burns 1,000 Acres

The blaze was zero percent contained as of Saturday morning.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA -- A fast-growing wildfire that sparked Friday afternoon in San Bernardino County was 5 percent contained as of Saturday afternoon. The blaze, which erupted at 1:29 p.m. at the valley of the Falls Drive Service Road sent plumes of smoke to the area, visible in parts of Riverside County.

Fire officials said the blaze, one of several to burn across the state amid a Red Flag Warning, was 1,000 acres.

San Bernardino National Forest officials said the fire was moving north and east, higher into the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area.

Evacuations were ordered for the Forest Falls Community east of Highway 38 with an evacuation center established at the Inland Leaders Charter School at 12375 California Street, Yucaipa CA 93299.
