Where To Dispose Of Expired, Unused Drugs In Riverside County, IE

On Oct. 26, several locations are offering free, no-questions-asked service for safely disposing of medications at locations across SoCal.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Do you have unused or expired prescription medications taking up space in your cabinets? Here's where you can safely dispose of them this month.

As part of the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26, Kaiser Permanente Southern California is partnering with law enforcement to open up a dozen locations across the Southland for people to drop off unwanted medications.

The service is free and no questions will be asked.

It's important to get rid of old medications since they are the leading cause of accidental poisoning in households. Unused or expired medication thrown out in the trash or flushed can also pollute the environment.

All prescription medications will be accepted but no needles or sharp objects can be dropped off.

The DEA is also opening up dozens of free drop-off locations on the same day. Search for a collection site here by entering your zip code.

Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the locations listed below:

  • Ontario Medical Center, 2295 South Vineyard Ave.
  • Riverside Medical Center, 10800 Magnolia Ave.
  • Murrieta Police Department (front parking lot), 2 Town Square
  • Yucaipa Police Department, 34900 Oak Glen Rd.
  • Sun City Palm Desert, 38180 Del Webb Blvd.
  • Cal State University San Bernardino, 5500 University Pkwy
  • Corona Police Department, 730 Public Safety Way
  • Redlands Police Department/Cajon Pharmacy, 232 Cajon St.
