Wind Advisory For Banning, Pass Area As Gusts May Reach Over 40 MPH
Residents were advised that wind gusts could top 40 to 60 mph in some areas during the wind advisory slated to last through early Wednesday.
BANNING, CA — A wind advisory went into effect Monday and would last through Wednesday, across the Pass Area, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory was effective from 1 p.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Wednesday due to gusty winds up to 65 mph in some areas, the agency said.
The advisory affects areas such as Banning and the San Gorgonio Pass Area, where West winds would blow sustained at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 65 mph in some areas.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," according to a NWS alert.
Meteorologists said blowing dust and sand could reduce driver visibility, and winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Drivers should use extra caution.
